Mike Shepherd, CPA

Professional Experience

Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Kentucky in 1991 and joined the national accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick. He left KPMG for an opportunity with Dean Dorton in 1994. Throughout his career, he has provided tax accounting and consulting services for clients in various industries throughout Kentucky.

Mike led the firm’s tax practice for over a decade and has more than 29 years of public accounting experience. He has worked extensively with real estate, service companies, dealerships, and high net wealth individuals.

Mike has experience in public speaking on topics such as tax law updates, choice of entity, advanced partnership tax rules, real estate law, and S corporation tax rules.
