Ed has more than 20 years of experience in technology and professional services. Ed started his career with technology in manufacturing with Olin Corporation. During this period, Ed had ownership of multiple manufacturing and HR/payroll-based systems that drove the production and operations of the organization. In this capacity, Ed was responsible for working with multiple internal and external stakeholders along with team resources to ensure an alignment of business objectives was achieved. After Olin Corporation, Ed moved into consulting and progressed into the role of Director, Professional Services at Aspect (previously Quilogy and now Alvaria) where he developed a passion for serving customers and working to create differentiated and value-added solutions.

In his current role with Dean Dorton, Ed is responsible for working with our Clients to improve business outcomes through data and process optimization. This involves listening to our Client’s current goals, issues, and/or limitations and working together to create a strategy and solution path forward. This path can range from crafting more efficient processes to interactive dashboards modeled on automated and disparate data sources to machine learning and AI-based solutions.

David began his career working in the executive office of a publicly traded company assisting in a number of special projects for the president of the company, finally working as the controller in the company’s retail devision. Upon passing the CPA exam, David went to work for KPMG in the Louisville office. He was promoted to partner in 1987. In 1998, David left KPMG with two other partners to form Buetow Le Mastus & Dick, PLLC (BLD), specializing in providing tax and accounting services to growing businesses, high net worth individuals, and clients with significant transaction based issues.

David primarily focuses on tax issues but is also involved with many clients on the accounting and finance side of their business. His ability to combine the two areas, along with his prior experience in business, helps him bring some unique approaches to helping clients. He has extensive experience in dealing with financial issues, general business issues and providing personal advice to clients to help them achieve their goals, whether business or personally related.
