Brittany graduated summa cum laude from Eastern Kentucky University with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and a Masters of Business Administration with an accounting concentration. She was an intern at Dean Dorton for two years prior to starting full-time at the firm in November 2014. Brittany serves on the firm’s higher education and employee benefit plan industry teams. She also plans and leads various audit trainings within the firm.

Brittany has 10 years of experience working with higher education clients with both financial statement audits and student financial aid single audits. Her experience includes both public and private institutions with an expertise of working in student financial aid. Brittany serves as the manager for several higher education institution foundations.

Professional Experience

Melody’s professional career began in accounting and audit, with the majority spent in Financial Management Technology. Melody serves as the Sage Intacct Practice Leader for Dean Dorton’s Business Consulting Services.

Upon graduating from college, Melody spent 10 years in public accounting and internal audit. After finding success in accounting, she transitioned to financial management technology, working with various applications. Melody was an early adopter of cloud-based financial management software, joining Intacct, an early-stage cloud-native software publisher. In her extensive career, she has held leadership positions in Professional Services, Solution Consulting, Sales Strategy, and Operations.

As Dean Dorton’s Sage Intacct Practice Leader, Melody manages Services, Client Success, and Operations for Dean Dorton clients on Sage Intacct. This includes Implementation Services, Technical Services, Support, Account Management and Renewals.

Melody works across most industries but has more extensive experience in Software and Professional Services.
