Amelia Sebastian, Manager of Tax Services, is one of 35 emerging leaders part of the award-winning Ignite Louisville program. Offered twice a year, the program prepares professionals in the Louisville community for expanded opportunities in career and community leadership.
Amelia met her classmates for the first time last week to kick off the program, which will teach key components of leadership from top companies in the Louisville area over the next seven months. She is excited to “not only learn valuable leadership skills, but to also put them into practice” throughout her time with Ignite Louisville.
The pinnacle of the program is the service learning component, Yum! IGNITES Louisville Challenge. The class of fall 2016 will break out in teams and pair up with local nonprofits in need. The teams’ combined Ignite Louisville training and professional expertise will aid in implementing innovative, lasting solutions to their nonprofits.
“I will hopefully have a positive impact on Louisville, not just this year, but for future years as well,” said Amelia.
Ignite Louisville teams have worked with over 80 nonprofit organizations since the inception of the IGNITES Louisville Challenge in 2004.
Other professionals participating in the Ignite Louisville class of fall 2016 come from companies including Brown-Foreman Corporation, KentuckyOne Health, Louisville Metro Government, The Healing Place, Bingham Greenebaum Doll, and Humana.
