Sherri Helmond

Professional Experience

Sherri has over 25 years of Executive Management and operational experience throughout various roles in accounting and finance including owning her own business. Sherri has held titles of Business Owner, Accountant/Controller, Chief Operating Officer, and Senior Vice President of Operations. She has a proven record for managing operations, leading teams, and executing objectives to obtain short and long-term company goals.

Upon obtaining her Bachelor’s degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1995, Sherri worked for over 15 years with a leading auto loan provider designed exclusively for Active Duty Military. She went on to purchase and grow her own business which more than doubled its growth in 5 years providing her the opportunity to sell the business at its peak. She then moved on to the Equine industry where she was able to provide solid accounting foundations and operational improvements for a local horse farm. Sherri joined Dean Dorton in November 2019, where she has been able to continue her operational and accounting expertise as it pertains to the Equine industry.

Industry Expertise

Sherri has managed financial services for businesses across multiple platforms including automotive finance, equine, and the community service industry. Sherri works specifically with the equine industry teams. Before coming to Dean Dorton, Sherri worked for various small businesses and has a passion for working alongside small businesses and equine operations. She has excelled in outsourced accounting services for several businesses, using Sage Intacct and other accounting and operational tools to provide clients with a clear and concise overview of their financial picture including supplemental reporting and analysis.
