Dean Dorton is excited to announce that we will sponsor Kentucky Derby contender, Tax, in all three races of the Triple Crown!
Tax recently won the Withers Stake after a third-place finish in the Remsen Stakes at Aqueduct. Tax’s road to the Kentucky Derby includes placing second at Churchill Downs in September 2018 and breaking his maiden at Keeneland in his second start in October 2018. Tax is ridden by jockey Junior Alvarado, trained by Danny Gargan, and owned by R. A. Hill Stable, Reeves Thoroughbred Racing, Hugh Lynch, and Corms Racing Stable’s.
Patti Reeves (Reeves Thoroughbred Racing) is a longtime acquaintance of Donna Logsdon, one of our team members. When Donna and Patti reconnected recently, Patti learned Donna worked for a CPA firm, so of course the sponsorship came as a natural fit.

Given the excitement due to our recent expansions into new markets and new services and the resulting momentum those expansions have created, we planned to launch a new logo and branding this summer. But when Patti approached us with this opportunity we couldn’t resist bringing all these elements together. The circumstances of a horse named Tax and Patti’s personal relationship with Donna make this such a special moment for us as firm.”
The new modern logo demonstrates the firm’s commitment to deliver excellent quality services while continuously innovating in order to help their clients succeed. The firm has altered their logo to reflect who they are today and to symbolize their dynamic future. The new logo will be seen on jockey Junior Alvarado’s pants, silks and boots.

“There isn’t a better fit for a horse named Tax,” said Patti Reeves, co-owner of Tax with her husband Dean. Reeves Thoroughbred Racing brought Derby contender Mucho Macho Man to the stage who placed third in the 2011 Kentucky Derby and went on win the 2013 Breeders’ Cup Classic.
